Our Donate A Drone program is intended to benefit the public safety and education industries of North Carolina. We are looking for any unwanted drones in working order and taking them to benefit the areas of public safety such as police, fire, EMS and more, as well as for the education system here in North Carolina.
If you have any unwanted drones or would like to make a donation to AUVSI NC for this program please reach out to us at ncauvsi@gmail.com or through our Facebook messenger at: https://www.facebook.com/NCAUVSI
July 2020 Initiative
'Getting Your Drone Team Ready for Hurricane Season'
During our ‘Getting your Drone team ready for Hurricane Season’ event that was held in July we had several public safety departments in North Carolina participate. Two departments were awarded brand new Skydio drones for the use during department operations. Those departments were the Harrisburg Fire Department and the Columbus Fire Department.
The recording for the event can be found on the link below. It was a great event and had plenty of expert knowledge on drone response in an emergency situation.
Harrisburg Fire Department
Harrisburg Fire Department won a Skydio drone kit during the July Hurricane Initiative.
“During this training we practiced lifting heavy machinery off of cars with simulated trapped victims, to simulate incidents involving vehicles that weigh in excess of 80,000lbs!!”
Air shots were filmed by their Skydio drone.
Columbus Fire Department
Columbus Fire Department received a Skydio during the July initiative.
